When did you begin your career in the title or real estate industry and how did you get your start?
I began in the title industry as a Landman in 2010, working closely with landowners in regards to their properties mineral rights and negotiating for the purpose of oil and gas exploration. As a Landman I trained to be specialized in truly understanding the complexity of real estate properties. After compiling and curing a multitude of different title packages and transactions, I felt my skill set would translate very well into the title business side of real estate. I am very excited for the opportunity to work here at Mission Title.
What is the most satisfying part of your role in the transaction process and what makes you stand out from others in your industry?
The most satisfying part of the transaction process is being able to work with so many great people, and assisting in guiding them through potentially one of the biggest p of their lives. I feel my easy composure, general positive attitude and preparedness managing a client’s natural uncertainty with huge life changing choices minimizes their pressure.
What factors from your past experience have contibuted the most to your current unique skill set?
My career as a Landman gives me a significant edge, by being trained and skilled in abstracting, I know what can affect ownership of a property. It’s not just the history of a property, it is the details of every aspect of that property from the original grant to all of the subsequent conveyances, encumbrances and ensuring that both sides of the transaction are handled thoroughly.
When you're away from the busy Mission Title office, what are some of your favorite activities ?
When away from the office you will typically find me spending time with my wife and our great friends and family. I enjoy spending time in the country or on the coast hunting and fishing.
