When did you begin your career in the title or real estate industry and how did you get your start?

I started in the real estate industry in 1989 when I got licensed as an associate real estate agent. I worked full time for 2 years then decided to join the title industry as an escrow officer. I kept my license active for many years thereafter which helped me understand and appreciate the business much more on a different level.

What is the most satisfying part of your role in the transaction process and what makes you stand out from others in your industry?

The most satisfying part of my role as an Escrow Officer is when all parties in the transaction are content with the outcome of the closing process. They feel excited to start a new chapter in their lives whether buying or selling or just refinancing. I feel happy to be part of their excitement and hopefully continue to be of service in the future.

What factors from your past experience have contibuted the most to your current unique skill set?

The factors from my past experience are numerous. I have worn many hats throughout my career in the past 25 years, just to mention a few, from knowing how to prepare legal documents for legal council, working directly with title underwriters on clearing title issues, to understanding the loan process from beginning to end on residential and commercial loans, to the Business Development aspect of the business. I have also been involved in many community service projects such as the HEB Feast of Sharing and a volunteer at an annual fundraiser at the Valley Nature Center. I served as a Board of Director at the Weslaco Chamber of Commerce and the Board of the Leadership Mid Valley as well as a Past President for the Weslaco Lions Club. I have had the privilege of being of service at the Texas Lion's Camp in Kerrville as well.

When you're away from the busy Mission Title office, what are some of your favorite activities ?

Some of my favorite activities away from Mission Title are most of all spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy dancing and listening to Country, Tejano as well as International music: George Strait, Jay Perez as well as Camila. I also love to shop for unique antiques.
