When did you begin your career in the title or real estate industry and how did you get your start?
My first (and only) temp assignment was at Chicago Title my senior year in college (1984). They needed a receptionist during spring break. They asked me to stay first as the commitment/policy typist, then escrow secretary/bookkeeper.
What is the most satisfying part of your role in the transaction process and what makes you stand out from others in your industry?
I see the majority of my job as one of protection - our customers, our employees and our company - not only of its' assets but of its' reputation. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from whatever the contribution is that I make on a day to day basis.
What factors from your past experience have contibuted the most to your current unique skill set?
I've worked for various types of agencies - from small, locally owned; direct ops of an underwriter as well as a publicly traded nationwide agent that was also a sister company to an underwriter. This has allowed me to see many different facets of the industry both in Texas as well as other states. The exposure to many different kinds of business operations has provided many experiences from which I can draw.
When you're away from the busy Mission Title office, what are some of your favorite activities ?
Spending time with friends now that I am back in San Antonio.
