It’s time. Inman Connect New York is next week (January 22-26, 2018), and many of our attendees will be traveling this weekend. We can’t wait to share the event with you, and our team here at Inman is busy making all those last minute tweaks to make the event as effective, meaningful and helpful as possible for you.

But in the flurry of excitement, it’s easy to miss something to bring. Perhaps that charging cord that keeps you from running low on battery power by lunchtime on the first day. Or that pair of comfortable shoes that’s seen you through many conferences in the past. We asked our Inman Community Facebook Group for their best suggestions for what not to forget, and their last-minute tips. Here’s a selection of some of our favorites.

Andrea Geller: “Make sure the Starbucks app is loaded. Current credit cards on Uber and Lyft.”

Melissa Salazar: “Make sure you register for any special events the Ambassadors [are] leading ie: yoga, soul cycling, photowalk!”

Jason Stafford Peebles: “Network network network. Also, avoid the “shiny object” situations. Beyond that you’ll be fine.”

Lee Arnold: “Forget packing. Buy all new clothes, let the store pack it all up in a garment bag and check it in at the airline.”

Nikki Beauchamp: “Load up your starbucks cards, label your chargers, update your ICE Information on your device, update your payment methods on Uber Lyft Juno Venmo. Download the ICNY app — and open table.”

Tara Christianson: “Download the ICNY app, start figuring out what speakers and vendors you want to see, finalize meetings with people, and make sure you have your Influencer Bash ticket!!!!”

Lynn Johnson: “Don’t forget swag! Whatever it is…bring it!”

Tracy Wolchock Freeman: “Coming with a group? Look at the schedule and divide and conquer.”

Chavi M. Hohm: “Make reservations in advance for everything! Lunch and dinners. Leave room for a new friend or two.”

Krishna Malyala: “Bring extra batteries to charge your phone and other devices. Bring business cards. Dry cleaning. Introduce yourself to everyone.”

We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone next week at Inman Connect New York, and we hope to see you out and about during the networking parts of the conference. Don’t be shy! We can’t wait to meet you all. Please be sure to say hi to any of our ambassadors, or anyone from Team Inman if you need help with anything at all.

We’ll keep you posted throughout the event. (If you can’t make it, be sure to tune in to our live stream if you’re a Select member), and feel free to add some more tips for us in Coast To Coast on Facebook if we’re missing anything.
