The house where legendary singer Frank Sinatra used to entertain some of Hollywood’s biggest names is back on the market for $12.5 million.

Byrdview Estate, the 8,161-square-foot house in Los Angeles, has a very famous past — it was first built in 1949 for Chase Bank heiress Dora Hutchinson. Since then, it has become a favorite among celebrities throughout Hollywood’s Golden Age – Judy Garland and Vincente Minelli married on the property before Hutchinson moved to New York and started renting it out to Sinatra.
After moving in, Sinatra would regularly host parties for his famous friends — just like with another Hollywood estate, Marilyn Monroe is said to have used the 1,000-square-foot guest house for her clandestine meetings with John F. Kennedy.

The house, which has full-length glass walls, views onto the Chatsworth Reservoir nature preserve, and two swimming pools, is known as the ‘Byrdview.’ Its mid-century American style is also frequently used to film – you might have seen it on shows such as Mad Men and Californication.
Listing agents Craig Knizek and Barrie Livingstone of high-end brokerage The Agency are tasked with selling the house — over the last decade, it has been listed several times by other agencies but, like its celebrity guests of the past, keeps moving around.
The property itself is also surrounded by a 14-acre estate that includes sprawling grounds, a cabana and spa, space to build a vineyard or equestrian studio, and room to park over 100 cars. The listing agents are open to negotiate the surrounding land into the price of the house.
