Holidays in 3D: Tour 5 festive locations right now

When staging a property, brokers want to evoke a sense of what life is like inside the home. Buyers who come through should be able to imagine their own lives in the space — including entertaining and family gatherings.

If part of your staging efforts include decorating a home during the holidays, you can look for inspiration in many places. The architectural style of a home may dictate the best look, for instance (a center hall Colonial house would call for a different approach than a Mid-Century modern bungalow), or perhaps its location in a certain environment or terrain.

If you’re still struggling to create the perfect space, don’t get your tinsel in a tangle: Matterport can make your spirits bright. Explore these five festive properties that are decked out in uniquely warm and welcoming fashions — all in 3D. Some are historic and some are commercial, but all are fully festive and ready for you to tour.

Holiday Artist’s Open House

Some of Zeeland, Michigan’s talented artists invite you to their holiday open house in this model. Giving people an after-hours look at what’s for offer, these local artists have put forth innumerable and unique furnishings, gifts, clothing, and home decor for sale.

Finding a local artisan or antique store to help you stage your property with vintage or rustic holiday decor is a great way to spruce things up, and the benefits will have both parties full of cheer: they get to advertise their wares, and you get access to inventory without investment.

High Plains Ranch Lodge

The lodge at High Plains Ranch is warm and inviting after a long day outside. Exposed beams and trusses, an impressive stone fireplace, massive windows, and expansive decks bring elements of the surrounding natural forest inside this beautiful lodge. Cathedral ceilings create a wonderful sense of openness and height and ensure you can keep an extra tall Christmas tree, too!

With such grandeur on display, the holiday decor is kept to a minimum, allowing the wood trim and shining mountain light to add to the overall effect.

The Gibson Mansion

Built in 1903 by A.J. Gibson, one of the most noted architects in Montana history, the Gibson Mansion is a step back in time to a Victorian estate located in Missoula, Montana. Gibson designed over 150 buildings in his life, including the Missoula County Courthouse and the Main Hall at the University of Montana.

In 2001, the house was restored to its original beauty and opened as a bed and breakfast. Here, you can visit Gibson Mansion decorated for the holidays, and step into a Victorian Christmas that even Scrooge could love.

Christmas in Lloyd Harbor

Each year, a special home on West Neck Road in Lloyd Harbor undergoes a magical transformation into the winter wonderland of your wildest imaginations.

From full-sized Nutcrackers and wooden soldiers, to three full-sized Christmas trees, the holiday spirit has never come to life with such fervor as it has in this home. If there’s one lesson to take home here, it’s this: go big!

A Living Christmas Card from the University Club

The University Club clubhouse is an English Renaissance style architectural gem completed in 1913. From its perch above St. Paul, patrons enjoy sweeping views of downtown and the Mississippi River. Explore its library and lobby decorated for Christmas.

Conversation areas are key for stylish staging, inviting visitors to find comfy corners and linger with loved ones.
