Although machine learning and artificial intelligence are becoming increasingly common buzzwords in the technology space, most of the people who talk about these new ways of executing tasks (and learning how to improve) don’t consider the ethical implications involved in the intersection between technology and society. Luckily for humanity, Kate Darling, PhD, a research specialist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an Affiliate at the Harvard Berkman Center, has been asking questions about what our increasing technological abilities mean for actual people for years.

Banner Award in Intellectual Property from the American Bar Association in recognition of her legal work, and she holds workshops concerning new developments in the world of robotics and how they could affect us from an economic, legal and social standpoint in the future.
